Hi, my name is Chris Latham and we're here today at EMI Music Publishing's Nashville
recording studio on Music Row with Expert Village. Generally we count on about an hour
a song to sing vocals. Some folks take a lot longer, some folks it's a little quicker.
After you've sung your lead vocals, we generally like a little time to do a little editing,
make sure everything is in tune, everything is in time, and then you'll have a background
singer, a harmony singer come in and put harmony vocals on. That generally takes anywhere from
forty-five minutes to an hour per song. Then the mixing process starts. You can generally
count on anywhere from two to four hours per song to mix things. Mixing, a lot of people
think it happens quickly. It's a little time consuming and like I've heard a good friend
of mine say, you can mix it fast or you can mix it right. You want to lean toward mixing
it right. It takes a little time and be patient through that process.
