I have a very interesting cultural heritage.
My father is Cuban, my mother is Mexican with Puerto Rican origins,
besides, the years I have lived in Puerto Rico
have given me the beautiful mixture of Cuba, Puerto Rico and Mexico.
I feel this is very important to understand the culture
of this three countries and the rest of Latin America
which share a unique passion and sensitivity that one can hear in the music very easily.
I have been studying classical music all my life.
Currently I am focusing on Latin American music
which, I think, perfectly goes along
with what I am and what I feel.
Music was the first language I learned.
I have been hearing music since before I was born
due to my parents who are both pianists.
I see music as the universal language.
The guitar is such a versatile instrument.
It can be found so easily at a party playing rancheras or boleros
and in the same way perform classical music at a concert hall
that very often we think it is reserved for
the piano, the violin or even an orchestra.
What I want to do is to express myself
and present to you this great Latin American music at a high level, the one required at a concert hall
but with the sensibility and confidence of a family reunion.
