it's great to have on the board and thank you to him entry every other david
packard remember the keeps the show going
there's a lot of mike's aren't there
one of my clarity that david slaughter roberts aka
and actually interestingly enough
a lot of cindy's and cynthia cindy and cynthia are popular member names tim
fascinating
we covered how aaron sports reddit co-founder committed suicide in the
middle of an investigation going on regarding the uh...
uh...
pub tidbits p_r_i_ i don't even know words it'd to use the obtaining the
procuring of a number of documents from j store an m_i_t_ which he then was
being prosecuted for something that was no longer illegal we've talked about the
whole story and i don't know that we need to rehash it
the news without this is that prosecutor carmen ortiz is now facing a
congressional probe
the justice department is now getting a lot of pretty pointed enquiries from a
congressional committee about
attorney carmine and ortiz is prosecution of aaron sports which
is now bringing up allot of questions about whether
parat judgment is being called into question here as she pursues other
high-profile cases
and there's going to be a probation department probe
i think this is a good thing i mean the time you were saying that it really
seems like that night nothing
unusual was going on that sort wasn't being singled out isn't that what you
said
uh... i was just saying that that's something that i read that uh... some
people are saying that it's india
assembly won't come to the conclusion state that
for example only because the same crime is an always uh... prosecuted doesn't
necessarily mean that they were singling him out unfairly
uh... but it could mean that so it needs to be looked at so that the questions
that the initial letters asking our
we did federal prosecutors go after erin sports because he opposed the assoc by
the stop online piracy act was that a factor
how the how do the charges and penalties against torts compared to their
prosecution of other hackers which is kind of getting a little time is saying
which is just that
just not being the exact same situation doesn't necessarily mean he's being
targeted but it is a question here what plea deals were offered to sorts because
typically you would have a plea deal offered and prosecution would continue
to those are not accepted did it deliberately offer plea deals that were
good such that keep nobody in their right mind would accept them to create
the situation where they could continue the prosecution i think he's a good
questions
and why did they replaced the original july of twenty eleven indictment
with another indictment in september of twenty twelve that pumped up the charges
and left in facing decades in prison and a million dollars of by defense cially i
think it is a good questions i think it's a good to find this out
and of hopefully we will get to the bottom of it is a lot of speculation
about whether he was or wasn't being targeted that's really what this is
going after
right uh...
my assumption is that day he was you-know-what sometimes uh... the
prosecutor tries to make an example of someone of a certain status of certain
you know fame
and uh...
it seemed unfair
so hopefully hopefully the right things happened the reality is that the
opinions about what happened here are really wide spectrum on the one hand
there are people who say
these were trumped up charges and parents towards was bullied to death by
the government
the other side of that would be this is an individual who was already
predisposed to uh... to to take his own life
and that the entire accusation that this is anyway had anything to do with the
government of the government did anything wrong is completely made up
the reality is probably somewhere in the middle the question is which side is a
closer to you right at times i think that that's that's realistically what
we're looking at here
yeah and i don't want a lion
beyond the wrong side of the argument or history but her but sometimes what
happens is
prosecutors will directly or indirectly threaten
uh... the defendant with that like much worse jail timer penalties than is
reasonable or or that is likely to happen death uh... and that sometimes
people but you know honestly that's not that great of an argument because
presumably aris works at a lawyer and the lawyer would have told them what the
deal was bright so i'd i'm mean i think it remains to be seen
