Thank you for considering Morris Press Cookbooks. We’ve published millions of cookbooks for
churches, schools, businesses, organizations, and families, making us the nation’s #1
community cookbook publisher. Our easy steps will help you create a successful cookbook.
The first step is creating a committee, so choose enthusiastic and dependable people
for the job! A chairperson should coordinate the project, oversee decisions, and serve
as the main contact with Morris Press Cookbooks.
Committee members should help collect, organize, and proof recipes, write personal pages, and
choose the recipe format, cover design, and dividers. You’ll also need to make decisions
on cookbook options and selling price, as well as how you’ll market, sell, and distribute
your cookbooks. If your organization is large, form sub-committees and delegate duties. If
your organization is small, everyone can work together. Set goals and deadlines to stay
on task.
If you haven’t yet ordered a FREE Cookbook Kit, your chairperson should request one from
our website. It includes samples and our Publishing Guide, with all the information you’ll need
in one place. Now you’re ready to start collecting recipes. Depending on how you plan
to submit and collect recipes, you may need to print some of the Starter Kit material
from our website’s Download Center. We’ll review this in our Step 2 video.
