How to Affix a Photo to a Passport Application. Whether you are applying for a U.S. passport
in person or seeking to renew an old one by mail, you must submit two recent passport

office will attach the photos to the application. In the past, applicants for a U.S. passport
were asked to staple photographs to the application. This is no longer the case. Step 5. When renewing
by mail, place the photos inside your old passport and mail them along with the rest
