Now once we have the basic flower shape, we're going to practice putting some little accent
marks around the flower, which is what I call points and commas. Basically, that's what
they look like, little commas. You squeeze a bit of the henna down into a round point,
and then you lift it with a bit of curve so it's like a comma. You can make these varying
sizes around your design to accent the design and give it some flow. It adds movements to
your design. Usually, you kind of follow the shape of the design like the petal and make
the little commas progressively smaller or larger. The points are just squeezing a bit
of the henna down and then drawing it quickly out. It kind of looks like cake decorating.
You just sort of squeeze a little bit down and flick it out. It makes a little bit of
a point and accent that you can edge your design with or use for embellishment on any
part of it.
