Hi.
I am Shawna Coronado from Gardening Nude.
And I am here today to review a product from Clean Air Gardening.
And that product is this right here.
It is an indoor kitchen composter.
What is really cool about it is if you live in a tiny apartment or a small condo you can
do composting right in your kitchen.
And the other cool thing about it is it has the ability to compost bone, like chicken
bones, and milk products.
And that is not something you can normally compost in your outdoor composter.
Here is what you have to do when you are using the composter.
You take the lid off.
And I have like a small cover over the top of this because you are supposed to be able
to.
Aaah!
Ok.
That would be a negative of the composter.
It is very smelly.
Ew.
But a good part of the composter is that you can take an old chicken apart.
And you have to chop it up in as many pieces as you can with the bone and all.
All right.
So you chop it all up like that.
You use this Bokashi.
And so what this does is it helps pickle the product.
And once you put in a layer of food then you put in a layer of the Bokashi.
And it says put a really strong handful in.
And it also says that it works better when you compress it so then we put this back on
top.
And then you compress it.
And the less air that it has it say that it is better for fermenting and the pickling
process.
And then you cover it with the lid really tight because that really stinks.
Ew.
The smell is kind of bad.
Then you take a glass or a cup and you drain out the liquid that is in the bottom.
It is draining right now.
Hold on.
It is taking a second here.
So you can water your plants with the compost tea and it is good for your plants.
But do not drink this.
Ok, so, let this drain out.
And this is what it looks like.
Ooh!
Smells really bad.
It smells really bad so we are going to right now and mix it in with water.
While this composter is really cool, particularly because you can compost meat and milk product,
I do prefer traditional composting.
I like to be able to go and toss it all outside in a pile and not have to worry about smells
or compression.
And the other thing is that you do need to purchase this Bokashi here regularly.
So you are going to have to order it from a special store like CleanAirGardening.com.
However, as an idea to save space, to save landfill space, it is fantastic.
I would highly recommend it for that.
So there you go.
It is a little review on a Clean Air Gardening’s kitchen composter.
So why not leave a note for me in the little comment area below.
Or send me an email and let me know what you think of this idea and if you would like to
try it to.
Remember – it is easy to make a difference, save landfill space, do a green thing.
