Hello, my name is Janice Evenson.
I'm a fitness trainer with Enbridge.
Throughout this month, I'm sharing my best fitness tips to help you prepare
for the Enbridge CN Tower Climb for United Way.
Last week, we talked about the best way to train for the CN Tower Climb
is by doing stairs.
While this is true, it's also good to vary your workouts
so that you don't get bored by doing the same thing over and over again.
This is called cross training.
And this involves incorporating different activities into your workout that you enjoy.
Think about participating perhaps in a group exercise class,
playing tennis or basketball with friends, riding a bike,
going for a brisk walk outside, or jogging on the treadmill.
These things will help you strengthen the different muscles that are involved
in climbing the CN Tower.
Be sure to include some resistance training through your upper and lower body
two to three times per week.
This will increase your strength and your stamina,
and it'll also improve your bone density and your overall appearance.
But make sure you add a rest date between your workouts.
I hope you've enjoyed this tip to help you prepare
for the CN Tower Climb for United Way.
Join me next week when we'll talk about core training.
