Today on this 2007 Chevrolet Silverado were going to install part number 9465-34. Were
going to start off our install with the rear wheels removed and the spare tire lowered
out of the way. You dont have to do this, but it makes access to the insulation and
hitch a lot easier. Now this vehicle has an OEM brake controller installed in the frame
rail, so theres two bolts we have to loosen up so we can remove it from
the rail. All we have
to do is just loosen up the bolts, push it to the side and
we can
remove
it from the frame. Were going to let it sit inside the frame for now.
The next step
it to go
ahead and make room for
a hitch in the heat shield. There will be a section of the
heat shield that we will have
to remove that
will be above the axle. You
can cut it with tin snips. You can also use a grinder of a cutting wheel. Also, theres
a heat shield on the corner of the gas tank.
