What up? This is Henny. This one Dow Jones and we are Tha Bizness.
This is behind the scenes Kendrick Lamar's "Sherane". We're gonna take you all into the studio so you can run me how we get down how we do what we do.
So we've had this piece, right? Basically it went into Maschine, decide we gonna do the samples, we start playing with something.
If you listen to the track stock you can sound completely different. But we use Maschine's internal effects to really create something. Just to beef everything up and kind of, yeah, kind of make our own sound.
We loaded in our own drums, did a simple arrangement with nothing added, no effects or whatever.
People always ask like, or I get a new piece of software or when I get Maschine what sounds does it come with? And it comes with a lot of sounds but the greatest part of Maschine to us is that you can record whatever you want in it.
Then we add effects. There was a simple beat with a lot of different textures that made it full. You turn it up D.
And then he came with the idea of using his own voice as a vocal sample.
Then we're gonna add this effect that we found it was really dope, it was called high sky.
Now we're gonna add effect.
And just added a warm ambiance to give it a little reverb.
This was the first time that we recorded live instruments into Maschine instead of how some people may take live instruments and record them straight into Pro Tools.
You know we'll add extra parts like you know I'll play some rows over it and a little piano just to give it extra touches.
We take that and we'll export that into Logic as a waveform.
And so we don't have to do too much EQing and too much other stuff in Logic besides just sequencing the track and adding you know little extra bits and pieces that turn it into a real track that we do.
Making a track that can stand out and you know be authentic and still have the right textures.
Sometimes you can still use some of their stock sounds and some of their stock effects.
