My next idea for you to work with as far as creating a vest, I called it a classic vest,
I don't know what it is technically called but it is just that this is equivalent in
like sleeveless shirt lies in the shell top. It is basically garment lines made into a
garment. You have a center front line, you have a princess seam, you have an arm hole,
there is no collar, it is just a basic shell of a vest and it is buttoned and when we think
about it in a classic sense then you would have buttons, or you don't have to have buttons,
that was my thing. You don't have to have a watch pocket but classically there would
be a watch pocket. It doesn't have to be that length but it is in my head as far as a typical
plain old outline of a vest. I have shown you how to do silhouettes. This is just classic
meaning that I am trying to get across the point of view that even something very basic
that is broad reaching could be fine tuned and honed as far as your ideas on it and your
concept on it. You can take this and you can run anywhere with it but it is all up to you
if you just let yourself go and take a classic vest and turn it into, it is already an iconic
style turn it into something that is avant-garde, turn it into something that is not iconic
but you, something that people will know as iconic because it is yours. Something that
history will relive and will revisit in the fashion future as something that you designed.
You have to have that kind of feeling in order to show that you are serious about what you
are doing.
