Not too long ago I started doing braids to set my hair. I did do braids before doing
the twists for ten years and then I switched over to doing braids again.
I decided to revisit twists, but in a different way, slightly different way.
I have three twists, this is how I ended up setting my hair, it was wet and products were
applied already. After washing and detangling, I just basically took the twists and braided
them together like this. Elongating them and wrapping them so they
are nice and long to prevent single strand knots.
I did the double detangling that I will do sometimes.
I will detangle when I am in the shower and then detangle again.
The top of my hair will dry first and then the ends will dry and then I will end up with
water down the length. What I did, and I also do this when I do braid outs, I went ahead
and um took out that one braid and took out each twist, you know one section at a time
and then I applied additional hair butter and then I went through..and it helped to
distribute the water a bit more I feel like it helped to further smooth my hair 'cause
I was able to through it again and smooth it and put hair butter in it and distribute
the water that was still left in my hair, and then twist those sections back up and
put it back in a braid. I will do that with braid-outs when I will do six or eight braids,
it takes a little bit longer because I have to take out each braid and then put them back
in and it is a lot faster to take out and put back in twists.
So end up with a flattened sort of twist and braid result. The results are smooth and everything
is good, it's a faster way to set my hair, and if I want really smooth results I have
to go back in and remove the twists halfway through distribute the water more with my
hands as I am applying hair butter and twist my hair back up, in order to really get smooth
results. Otherwise my hair will kind of curl up within the twists and my hair won't be
as elongated. My hair s definitely elongated so this is definitely something I can do
when I'm specifically going fo elongating my hair. So yeah.
Kitty cat, Kitty, Kitty. Good boy.
