>>ANTHONY: Now coming into the back.
She's still putting in a lot of henna.
>>BRYNN: I try to just squeeze it together
you know, so it doesn't fall down to my neck.
>>ANTHONY: You're doing a great job.
Very professional on yourself.
[laughs]
>>BRYNN: That's why I'm doing the video!
[laughs]
>>ANTHONY: Morrocco Method's henna top model,
Brynn Alabanese.
>>BRYNN: All right!
>>ANTHONY: Cafe Musique.
>>BYRNN: And so here I go, I'm going to
switch hands now. See? that's why you
need to use the gloves.
>>ANTHONY: Mmhm. Show them the glove again.
Yup, there we go, okay. Great. So now?
>>BYRNN: Get the other side.
Getting down.
Really applying a lot.
>>ANTHONY: A lot. Generous, be very generous
with the application.
>>BRYNN: So actually I think I made just the right amount.
>>ANTHONY: Oh, so half a jar, a little bit more?
>>BRYNN: Yeah.
>>ANTHONY: Would have been perfect.
>>BRYNN: I like that, yeah.
>>ANTHONY: And not drippy.
>>BRYNN: No.
>>ANTHONY: Not thin.
>>BRYNN: Very thick, like Greek yogurt or Turkish yogurt.
>>ANTHONY: Some might claim, basically say they put it
on and it was so thick they couldn't get it off.
But that's the opposite. This is like the consistency
of yogurt.
>>BRYNN: And you can get it off, you just
have to make sure that your mixture has enough oil
in it and that you spend time in the shower
brushing it out. I like to bring either the
scalp massager or something in the shower
when I rinse it out.
>>ANTHONY: Good point, bring the scalp massager in
and really work it out.
>>BRYNN: Yeah, okay, so I think it feels
to me like I pretty much got everything.
Can you see if I got everything? I guess.
>>ANTHONY: Right back there's a little..
>>BRYNN: Right down here?
>>ANTHONY: Perfect, better, better, better.
>>BRYNN: So now I'm going to check the front
again. I don't want to use all the mixture
on it. I'm going to apply even a little more
to the front and work it in! You see how I'm
working it in with the brush? I am actually
massaging it with the bristles of this paintbrush
that I got at the hardware store.
>>ANTHONY: Good point. Good point.
>>BRYNN: And just brush it in. Just massage it in.
>>ANTHONY: Any of you are wondering where you are,
we are in the master bathroom of Antonio Morrocco.
Look at these plants! Aren't they spectacular?
Are they happy or what? They're growing everywhere.
Yup, the castle is green, green.
>>BRYNN: So that's how much I have left.
Okay? And so what I am going to do with that
is I'm going to put it, and this is the fun part,
just lop it on the top there for a minute. Okay?
Slop it all up there on top. See how I'm just...?
Whoops!
So you just want to try and keep everything up there.
I found a way to keep my hair up on the top of my head.
>>ANTHONY: How about the inside of your hair?
They're going to ask.
>>BRYNN: Well, I'm going to show them that.
So this is the fun part. Now, you see I got a little
bit of henna on my .... And that's okay because
normally I would have a cloth here and take that off.
But we don't have one here. But I'm not worried about
it because I know it's going to come out. So...
>>ANTHONY: Here we go.
>>BRYNN: This is the massaging part.
So basically you're going to take your fingers
and you're going to massage everything in there.
>>ANTHONY: Oh, so that's how you work
it all the way in.
>>BRYNN: That's how I work it! So I separate the hairs.
>>ANTHONY: Wow.
>>BRYNN: I separate the different sections
and see how I'm going down here.
And don't even use this anymore.
>>ANTHONY: Yeah, the brush is done.
>>BRYNN: Brush, put it in the sink.
And then take the rest on your fingers like this
and start massaging it in. That's all I do.
>>ANTHONY: Work it in through all the rest of your hair.
>>BRYNN: I really want to work it into the front.
>>ANTHONY: Ladies and gentlemen, this is such
an easy process, you can't wait to get your fingers
into your hair with henna.
>>BRYNN: I really didn't spill on anything except myself.
[pause]
So I just love it. I love the way it feels.
I love the way my scalp is tingling.
>>ANTHONY: Nice. Getting a great conditioning effect
also with the henna.
>>BRYNN: And with curly hair like this,
boy do you need it, ever need it.
>>ANTHONY: The conditioner.
>>BRYNN: Yeah.
>>ANTHONY: Ah. Moisturizing. That's the best.
>>BRYNN: That's the one thing that people with my
type of hair say. 'Oh but my hair is so frizzy!
I need, it never feels like it's clean or it feels
like it's too dry.' You know? It's either one or the other.
So here I am, I'm just massaging it in.
And they can do this for as long as you want
because the longer you keep this henna on your hair...
>>ANTHONY: True.
>>BRYNN: The better. So it always ends up for me
like two and a half to three hours that I leave it on.
>>ANTHONY: Nice.
>>BRYNN: So make sure that you get everything out of there.
>>ANTHONY: Yep, using up all the henna from the bowl we'll just keep...
>>BRYNN: Keep massaging.
>>ANTHONY: Keep putting on the top and massaging it into the hair.
So this is not that difficult after all, what you're seeing.
>>BRYNN: Does it look...?
>>ANTHONY: Oh yeah, it looks really saturated. It looks like
it's really penetrating all the hair follicles.
>>BRYNN: I'm ready for the ashram now.
>>ANTHONY: [laughs]
>>BRYNN: I'm ready for my sitting meditation, if that's
what you feel like you need to do once you got your...
>>ANTHONY: That's a nice thing to do, is just after
you do this is just go ahead and meditate for a while.
>>BRYNN: You can do a sitting meditation or
what I like to do, because I think heat really works
for the henna, to go and get on the exercise bike or
take a walk. And I'm going to show you how you do that.
