Hey guys this is Pamela Kramer. I wanted to share this new feature from Pinterest
that I thought was really cool. First I'm going to start out with Screencastomatic.com
which is a screen recorder and this is free. It's going to give me about 15 minutes and
I don't need that long so I wanted to try this option.
When I brought up my Pinterest account (http://www.pinterest.com/PamelaMKramer) it told me that I could add a map to my board.
I wasn't really sure where they were going with this and I clicked on see examples.
It brought up this example board with all of these different places which is great for
travel. I wanted to explore more before I created a board. I chose New York and when
you click on New York it gives these two examples. Number one you can see here and it gives the
actual description but you can see it on the map over here.
When I click on number one it brings up all the information for that particular location
and it looks like these are all coming from Foursquare. (http://www.foursquare.com/PamelaMKramer)
When I clicked more information it brought me to the website for the museum studio in
Harlem.
Now that I knew what I was doing I wanted to create my own board and of course I chose
Texas. I wanted to think of some places in Texas that I could highlight. My first thought
was NASA and all I did was do a search a search for NASA and it brought it up. I pinned it
with this image and it gives me several of them to choose from.
As you can see it's matching one and one. When I click on more it would take me to the
Space Center of Houston site and I went ahead and added the San Antonio Riverwalk. I was
thinking about the San Antonio bloggers out there.
I also added Kemah Boardwalk just to kind of get things going and then I went ahead
and invited a lot of my Texas bloggers friends that I know on Pinterest and if they are following
me back they will get an invite and I'm hoping to grow this board. I thought it was really
neat and rather than sharing a bunch of screen shares in a blog post I thought it would be
easier to try this method just to kind of get the word out there and show you how it
worked.
I hope you guys have a lot of fun with this new feature from Pinterest and you can visit
me at my blog at PamelaMKramer.com leave me any questions or tips that you might need
some help on and thanks for watching!
