In this video we will demonstrate the Alfred State intranet
at my.alfredstate.edu. The Alfred State intranet is not accessible
to the public and requires
your network username and password to gain entry into the system.
We will start in a web browser. I'm currently at my.alfredstate.edu.
I've already filled in my username, so I just need to supply my password.
Your username and password for the system is your network
account, so it is the same username and password that you use to log into this
Blackboard course.
When the page comes up,
I am currently a staff member here at the college, so I
see the Faculty and Staff home page. Current students have a similar page
that looks like this.
This system
serves as a page that you can use as a gateway to many of the services offered
by Alfred State.
If a web address for one of our systems changes, we will update the links
on this page. So across the top,
some very useful links for Webmail. So if you want to go to student Webmail,
Banner Web, a link to Blackboard,
a link to our master calendar of events on campus.
a link to Map Works, a link to Pioneer link.
Over here on the right is the system status.
If any of our major systems are encountering issues, we will
update it here, and you would see that maybe Banner Web
or email was down, it would be noted here with a red
button with the name of the system that is down.
To the left are quick links
to various services that we offer.
This page is designed to be hierarchy of the college structure.
So individual departments such as Enrollment Management
Department are listed underneath here. So if I wanted the Records Office, I would
go to Enrollment Management
and click the Records Office. When you are ready to leave
my. alfredstate.edu, the Log Out button is at the top.
If you click Log Out, it logs you out of the system.
