You know as we taped today, poker is America's game. In fact, long before America's game
was Texas hold'em, there was a type of poker, a five card draw game that was being played,
if you will, everywhere; in card rooms and people's home games across the country. Now
this is a five card draw variance, that at one time was very popular in the card rooms
around Gardena, California; back before the world series of poker even existed. It's a
game called Jacks to Open, also known as Gardena jackpots. Basically what it means is that
you have to have a pair of jacks or better to open the betting before the draw and we'll
look at what that means and when it's done, when betting is done and what happens if you
don't have jacks to open. Some people colloquially call it, Jacks or Better to Open, but that's
a little redundant. So we call the game jacks to open and we can assume that you can't open
betting if you have less than a pair of jacks. This has all been a mouthful, how about we
move on to the next segment and start playing, Jacks to Open.
