AMERICAN IDOL
KERRI: Hi I'm Kerri
DAVE: And I'm Dave and this is EW's TV Recaps for March 13. The Top 11 performed "Songs
from the Cinema" on American Idol last night. And while you probably assume that means "Songs
written specifically for movies," in Idol-land, it really just means "Songs that appeared
anywhere within a movie at all."
KERRI: Yeah, who remembers the 27 Dresses soundtrack? Give me something from Sister
Act, guys! GIVE ME HAIL HOLY QUEEN!
DAVE: That said, our Top 11 really got their acts together from last week's messy episode,
giving us some killer performances. Here are three of the best you should go check out
right now:
KERRI: Caleb Johnson wins the award for "Best Following of the Judge's Advice." He sang
"Skyfall," a complete change-up from the 80's hairband genre that he usually sings, and
it was AMAZING.

DAVE: Caleb did a great job. But the comeback kid of the night for me was CJ Harris. He's
been struggling to get back the momentum he had coming off Hollywood week, and he finally
nailed it with his take on The Marshall Tucker Band's "Can't You See."
[CJ Harris: Marshall Tucker Band: "Can't You See" from Blow.]
KERRI: And last but not least there's Gina Irene who, like always, put her unique sound
on Paramore's "Decode" -- and she really NAILED those high notes. I think she's going to be
in the top 3.

DAVE: How Jena Irene was ever in the bottom, I will never know. But there are some people
this week who should be worried.
KERRI: Like Malaya Watson and Ben Briley --
DAVE: And Majesty Rose. I love her, but if you're going to sing "Let It Go" from Frozen,
you have to be as good as Adele Dazeem.
