Hi Lynn Huber here. Today I want to talk about two things are
really important for a home business ? any type of home business. The first thing is
focusing on the right income producing activities, and the second thing is consistency.
Let's talk about the first thing ? focusing on income producing activities. So you
decided to start a home-based business. You get going and what do you do? I mean
there are a lot of things you can do. But here?s what you should be doing. You should
be identifying the income producing activities and focusing on that only! Anything else
is not going to help you in your business. So let?s talk about that specifically. If
I was in a networking business, the number one
activity I should be doing is inviting people to check it out. And whether you are doing
an online, off-line, through email? whatever you're doing, you need to get people to
see the products and the opportunity. That is the best income producing activity you
can be doing! Invitations? exposing people to the business or product. So that?s an
income producing activity. Let?s talk about an activity that is not income-producing.
Thinking about making money in your business, wishing you?re making money
in your business, organizing your desk? You know going to events and never taking
action? Those are all activities that don't produce or are not income-producing activities.
Now, don?t get me wrong? some of those things are important to do. You do need to
go to events. You need to get out to networking groups. You need to meet people in
your industry. Those things are great and they are really important. So do this for
me. Grab a piece of paper and make three columns?
Put the income-producing activities in column one, put the important activities like
events and that in column two, and then put the time wasters in column three? Start
brainstorming, list them all out, and then focus on the ones you should be doing, and
it should be primarily the first column and the second column. Nothing in the third column.
So number one is focus on income producing activities.
Number two is consistency. Without consistency you will not be successful in your
business. The people who are the most successful in their business are the ones that
are consistent over time. Consistency plus time equals a successful business. So what
does that mean? When you start home business, if you quit after three weeks? well
you're done! Those people that stick with it and they work at it, and they stay
consistent over a long period of time, meaning they?re going to be there a month from
now. They?re going to be there six months from now. They?re going to be there a year
from now? two years from now? those are the people that make consistent income
over a long period of time. So here?s one example? so right now it?s Christmas
time. Today is December 20th, and this typically is the time of year when people
in a home business tend to slow down. They want to take the time off? and you should
take time off and do fun things? but what some people do is they completely shut
down in the month of December. So if you ever catch yourself saying something like,
?Well, I'm going to start January. January is a better time. I?m going to start in January.
You know, the holidays are so busy and everything, and I?m not going to have time
to work in my business. So I?ll start in January.?
See what happens when that happens though? when you're not consistent? you get
stagnant and then you quit. Think about it like water. When water is fresh and it?s
flowing, it's good, but with when it's at rest it becomes stagnant and it becomes bad.
And that's the same thing with your business and so you want to stay consistent.
So that's my message today. Focus on income-producing activities and be consistent in
your business. And just take massive action. Get the momentum going and your
business will take off! Again, I?m Lynn Huber from LynnHuber.com.
Thanks for stopping by and spending a few minutes with me. And I?ll see you again real
soon! Have a great day!
