Alright, so, you're building a high-end gaming PC,
you have your super duper awesome video card,
you have an amazing motherboard,
and a really hot processor with a great CPU cooling,
and all this great stuff.
Uh, but now you're short on cash and you don't have $250
to get one of those big aluminum full tower cases.
And you don't have the space for a full tower either.
You need something that's small, it's compact, it's affordable,
but it's going to keep all of this ridiculously, uh
hot hardware nice and cool.
Check this thing out. This is the Thermaltake V9.
Now you might be thinking, "Is this the repeat?
I could have sworn that I saw this before."
Uh, this one is a little bit different. If you notice it has a big fan here,
instead of that window and those vents that I kind of didn't like.
They were kind of in an X pattern that was kind of
uh, I don't know, tackey I'd go ahead and say.
This is the Black Edition from Thermaltake. It's the V9 Black Edition,
and as you can imagine almost everything on here is absolutely black.
This thing is really cool. Taking a look at the back,
everything is black, on the inside black,
black, black, black. Diana you can't see it,
the camera can't even see this stuff, it's just too dark.
Now, check this out, here's what makes it cool.
Instead of having that little clear side window with the vents,
you get a big, big, big, 230mm fan.
Uh, this thing operates at 1300 RPM, about 17 dB.
It's extremly quiet. It's the exact same one that's on the top of this case.
So, if you saw my old Thermaltake V9 review,
it's the same thing. But now you have a whole new air-flow pattern in here.
Uh, it's going to be coming in through that 230 right here,
and out through the 230 at the top, and the 120 at the back.
Take a look at that 230 at the top. That thing is huge.
And again 17 dB, that's extremly, extremly quiet.
Uh, these 120's right here, they're called Thermaltake Turbo Fans,
Those things are actually 15 dB to 17 dB as well.
They're also very, very quiet, uh, and, they're just
extremly, extremly efficient at removing lots of hot air
um, from your computer piece, uh components.
Now, take a look at this in the back, first I'm going to show you,
you do get Tool-Less instillation for all your PCI bays.
Uh, so they're all Tool-Less. If you want to remove this
and use non-Tool-Less you can. You can just pop these out
and insert a screw. No problem.
Another thing that is kind of unique about this case
is the fact that you can actually bolt on a 70mm fan
to the back of this to cool the underside of your motherboard.
That's a feature that you're not going to see very often.
Now, as mentioned here you can take
ATX and microATX form factor motherboards without an issue.
And, another cool feature about this is it uses a bottom mounted PSU.
So your power supply is at the bottom, which is kind of cool.
A lot of high-end cases use that design
and it makes sense that they put it in this case.
Alright now, besides the PCI expansion slots being Tool-Less
all the Hard Drive bays are Tool-Less.
The 5.25 inch bays are Tool-Less.
Right here, you'll notice, you have spots for five Hard Drive bays.
This is a solid caddy, it's built in, you can't remove it,
um, but it is completely Tool-Less, and it's actually
one of the better Tool-Less designs I've seen.
Uh, it's right to unlock, and left to lock.
And it works very, very good. It's very secure.
A lot of the other ones feel a little bit flimsy, a little clumsy.
This one is very secure. Up here you'll notice that you have space
for four 5.25 inch external bays,
as well as two 3.5 inch external bays right bellow it,
and then your five 3.5 inch internal bays, which are you'll notice
are also cooled through the back here.
Now you have a fan, you have a 120 sitting right here.
You can't really see it, really doubt it. But it's right there.
It's going to keep all your Hard Drive cool, all your Hard drives cool.
And it's going to feed cool air into the case where it's going to be exhausted by that
120 and that 230 and then also you're going to be getting more
cool air pulled in there by the big 230 that goes on the side.
Now let me show you the back, so you can see what's going on over here.
You got a big case at the top, big hole at the top, for that 70mm fan
that you can install right there.
And then you have that vent at the bottom for your Hard Drives.
And just to get an idea of how much space you have
on the back of this thing, let me pop this off,
just so you can see what it looks like in there,
in case you have any ideas about cable management.
Pretty much no cable management is going to be happening in the back here,
it's just, there's not enough space, uh right here to actually put anything.
But, you have the notches to put zip-ties
and make everything look clean. Wire it up nice and tidy.
And, you'll notice that the front panel connectors come preloomed.
They actually look pretty sharp. Uh, so they're all ready to go.
You got your Molex connectors here for all your fans,
and your front panel connectors are already kind of,
kind of organized for you a little bit. Preorganized.
Very very nice case, and here's the best part about it
it will actually do an incredible job of cooling your case.
Of cooling your components. This is not like a little flimsy weak case.
It actually does an excellent excellent job.
Even on an over clocked Core i7 system with a GTX285,
it had no problems cooling it, uh so it did a very good job.
And, in case you wanted to know before I let you guys go,
I have one more thing. Check this out right here on the top.
This is your front panel connector, just so you know what you got.
Um, starting up here you got two USB 2.0 Ports,
you have your input and your output for your headset and your microphone,
and down here, this is where your power button and your restart is,
and your Hard Drive activity light is right there in the middle.
And again, all black on the inside. Looks very very nice.
Especially when you fill it with a bunch of stuff.
