Hello, my name is Christopher and we'll be discussing CourseDen's Calendar tool
The Calendar Tool helps you to keep up with course events such as project due dates,
virtual office hours, and quiz deadlines. You can use iCal to synchronize the counter
to your personal calendars
(such as Outlook and Google Calendar). There are a couple ways to access the calendar tool
First, you can click the Calendar header on the Calendar widget.
This widget can be found on the Homepage and Content Page.
Second, you can access the context menu on this widget. From the drop-down,
you'll be able to access the calendar by selecting "Go to Calendar."
You'll also see the "Subscribe" option which will discuss how to subscribe to a
calendar
later in this video. Once inside the Calendar tool, you see there are several
ways organize organize how events are displayed.
The current month is shown in the top-left corner. You can jump to different months by
clicking the arrows
forward and backward. The Agenda view shows events for the near future.
Clicking the arrows next to the shown time period toggles between events for today
and tomorrow, the next seven days, and the next 14 days.
The Day view shows events for the current date. You can change the date
by clicking the arrows next to the date or clicking the specific date within the
mini calendar.
The Week and Month views show multiple days of events together.
The List view shows all your course's events at once and can be toggled
between upcoming, past, all events, and filtered by course
item type. From the counter context menu,
found just above the calendar, you see calendars for each course you're enrolled in,
plus a university-wide calendar. Clicking any of the calendars shows the entire
schedule for the calendar.
Click "Show All Calendars" to get back to the main view. Clicking "Remove Calendar"
button will remove your calendar from the drop-down. Using the
"Add Calendar" button will bring up a pop-up with a list of all calendars you
currently have access to.
Select the check-box to the calendar you would like to add back to your list
calendars you're able to view. You may also change the display colors of each
calendar by selecting the
"Change Calendar Colors" in the content menu. Try adding some spice to your calendar by changing
the colors to something a bit more festive.
In the right pane, under the mini-calendar,
you see your personally-created tasks. Tasks are not public events;
only you can see the tasks you create. Use tasks to create 'to-do' lists
for personal use or for classes. To add a task, simply click on the text box,
give your task a title, and press "Enter." Click on the task title
to give it due date and add a note. Once you have completed your set tasks,
click the check-box next to task title and this will mark it as complete.
It automatically saves you can view the completed tasks by clicking on
"View Completed" at the bottom of the panel.
In the Calendar Settings, you'll see a set of display options
these will customize your view of the calendar when entering the tool each day.
Some of the options you can experiment with are: adjust the core hours displayed,
choosing whether or not to display weekends, and how your tasks are
displayed.
Be sure to click "Save" if you make any changes. The calendar tool allows you to print
a hard copy of events. Click "Print" to show your options
and a preview. Here, you can change the range of events and decide how much detail
you want to print.
You can subscribe to your CourseDen calendar
from an external application. You're able to subscribe to a calendar by selecting
the option from the content menu
on the Calendar Widget or this option can be found on the Calendar page, next
to the search function.
Clicking the link provides a link and a download feed option,
which you use to upload into your external calendar application.
Some examples are Outlook, Google Calendar, as well as iPhone,
Android, and Blackberry. You can copy and paste the link if your application
allows you to do so.
Otherwise you need to upload the file downloaded from the link into your
preferred
