Ephedrine is used for its vasoconstrictor properties, to formulate solutions by spraying or nasal instillation, proposed in the antiseptic topical and vasoconstrictor treatment of congestive states produced by acute rhinitis, sinusitis and nasopharyngitis.
Also part of the formulation of syrups and other dosage forms for the treatment of cough.
Ephedrine hydrochloride has been long used for the treatment of asthma with paroxysmal dyspnea.
It is not recommended to use the plant at home, because its use requires medical knowledge.
This product is contraindicated in children and people on antidepressants treatment. It must be avoided in pregnancy and lactation period.
