this video focuses on how to add your bank account into your quickbooks
company file
so the first thing we're gonna have to do is we're gonna have to go to our
chart of accounts so click on chart of accounts
brings up the list of every account that we have set up in a QuickBooks file
You see that there is our checking account our other equity accounts our incomes
and expenses will also be in this list
so to add a new bank account we will come down to accounts can click on new
now this brings up a list of all the different types of accounts you can add
income expense fixed asset bank loan credit card equity and other
so for today's video we're going to show you how to set up a bank account. We will click on bank and hit
continue
now we need to put in an account name
since the sample just put sample bank account
you can make it a subaccount of another account if you wish. That's not going to be
applicable here
and now add a description
and you can add this in if it's based on the account number or the purpose or
who has access whatever it may be
you can add your account number here you're routing number here
and we're gonna skip those things for now since it's just a sample
you can also add tax line mapping
default for that is cash
and there's a few other options here you can add an opening balance. If you're not sure if
you need one or not you can click on should i entered opening balance
you can also order checks for this bank account
as you can see here
so what's your satisfied that everything here is correct let's click close
That brings up a dialog box asking if you want
to create online banking for this account since this is a simple we will not
be do that
so we will just click new on this
It's added our new account into our chart of accounts with no opening balance so
it has the balance is being zero
and still maintains all of our other accounts
and that's really all there is to setting up your bank account in
quickbooks
