Before we get started doing this, I'm going to show you all the supplies that we're going
to need to shorten this mens jacket sleeves by hand. And that means we don't need a sewing
machine, we're going to do everything by hand, and it's going to be super easy. So I have
my jacket, and it's all put together, two sleeves. I'm going to work on one sleeve at
a time so I can copy the other sleeve exactly. I have a 12 inch ruler, so and it has all
to the 8ths, which I like that so I can get it exactly where I want it. I have my little
box of tailors chalk, which comes off with heat, I like those, so it doesn't leave a
line on it at all. I have straight pins, I have razor blade for taking seams out. I have
a pair of dress making shears, that are very sharp, it's good to have a nice sharp scissors.
And I have some surger weight thread. And that means it's just real light weight, you
know it's real good for hand sewing. I have an iron, which I already have on to maybe
like a 4. You don't want to have it too high, so we don't want to like burn the cuffs. And
then I also have a pressing cloth to lay over the cuffs. So, in the next clip I'm going
to show you how to get started doing this, now that we have all the supplies.
