Hey! So I'm going to talk a little bit about my septum piercing. That's this guy right
here. I'm assuming you know if you're watching this video. The pain. I'm going to cover this
first because I feel like that's what most people want to know about. The pain really
was not that bad. You've got to believe me, it wasn't. I'd say on a scale of one to ten,
ten being the worst, it was about a four or a five. One thing that I did which you should
not do is pinch your septum to try to see how bad it's going to hurt. That's what I
did and it's actually a really poor indicator of how bad it's going to hurt because your
fingernail is really blunt and it's really big, so when you pinch your septum like that,
you're actually aggravating way more surface area than the needle actually will. I don't
want to freak you out if you're scared of needles, but the needle is really sharp and
really precise and it just slides through your skin. You feel it, obviously, but it's
not the big, sharp, stabbing pain everyone thinks it's going to be. It's not. After I
got it done my nose was really sore. I felt like I got punched in the face. It was really
bad. I wouldn't worry so much about the actual piercing; I would plan for what you're going
to do after when your face is sore. It was really sensitive for the rest of the day.
I was pierced at twelve gauge. This is fourteen. They sometimes do it at sixteen, but my nose
is kind of big, so they used fourteen and I think it looks good on my nose. So I'm happy
with it. I've had it done for a week and two days. For the first week, I cleaned it six
times a day with salt water, which seems like a lot but it's not because salt water isn't
a harsh chemical or anything. It's really gentle. So it's doing really well. And now
I only clean it when it feels irritated, so two or three times a day. A lot of the healing
I feel like happened in the first week because it's moving freely now, it's not sticking,
there are no more crusty things, which are normal, by the way. It doesn't hurt anymore,
it's not bothering me. It's a very vascular area, this area right here. The man that was
there that helped the woman who pierced it told me that it heals just like an earlobe,
because there are so many capillaries and the skin where they pierce it is so soft.
It's called the sweet spot. It's between this cartilage here and the cartilage at the middle
of your nose. It's a really thin piece of skin, and it just heals really, really fast,
like an earlobe. They told me I wouldn't be able to change the jewelry for a month, a
month to a month and a half. I'll probably wait longer anyway. When I got my earlobes
pierced I waited two months. I only had to wait one. When I got my cartilage pierced
I actually waited five years to change the jewelry. So yeah, I'm pretty careful with
stuff like that. The great thing about this piercing is how easily you can hide it. Ready?
That's all you do and it's gone. And you just pop it back out. So for school or work or
anything, it's a really great piercing to have, if you want to have a facial piercing
but you're not able to. The piercing itself. So I had watched tons and tons of videos on
YouTube and in every single one, the person was sitting up, and they used a clamp. The
way the girl did it at the place I went to, she didn't use a clamp and I was laying down.
I was actually on a table with my head hanging off the back of the table so they could see
up my nose. She didn't use a clamp either which made me a little nervous, not going
to lie. But she marked my nose right here, she put a little red line, and she spent a
good fifteen to twenty minutes cleaning it, marking it, checking, lining up the needle
and the receiving tube before she actually pierced it, so they were really careful about
it. Like I said, there was a man there. Her friend helped her out, just to double check
and make sure all the lines were straight. So there were actually two people working
on it. They did an excellent job. It's pretty much perfectly straight. I actually have a
deviated septum, so if it looks a little crooked, that's my nose. It's not crooked. The piercing
itself is perfect. Yeah, that's another thing I was worried about. Since I have a deviated
septum, my nose is crooked, I was worried they wouldn't be able to do it, but that wasn't
a problem. Obviously, the needle kind of overrides anything that's crooked in there. It just
goes right through. It cost fifty dollars, and I tipped her ten because she did a really
good job, so sixty. Overall I'm really happy with it and I think it looks really cute.
I think it's a cute piercing on any girl. So I think if you're thinking about it and
you're worrying about the pain, don't. It's not a big deal. It really was not painful,
and I have a low pain tolerance, so coming from me, that's a good thing. Wasn't painful,
easy to clean, heals really fast, easy to hide. Overall I'd say it's like the best piercing
ever. So I hope this video helped, and if you have any questions feel free to comment
or email me or whatever you need to do. So thanks!
