Hi! I’m with Close To My Heart, and I’m going to show you
some fun things you can do with our scallop punch.
It’s a two-inch circle, but it includes some great marking
guides on the side so that if you want to create a
half circle you can do that really easily.
It also contains this handy-dandy catch at the bottom
for all your excess scrap paper. And using it is really easy.
It’s just a quick punch—don’t need to have great muscles to
do it. And it’s so strong and durable. You’re going to have
this tool for years as your trusty companion.
Today I’m going to show you how I created some of these
great scallop images on my “Love” banner. Uses three of the
pennant pieces from the eight pennant chipboard.
So first of all, I’m going to set this aside,
and I’m going to work with a stamp from our
“Salutation Seals”—that’s C1461 stamp set.
It says “Thinking of You.”
We’re going to create this little piece right here.
First, I’m going to move this up and away.
Going to grab some of my Colonial White cardstock.
We’ll march around that stamp—
get it good and inky.
Check my even coverage—
love my clear sets for that.
Okay, looks good!
And we just press firmly
and voila! Perfect stamp image every time.
Now because it lines up so well
with this—look at this. Oh, this is going to be cute!
Just fit it right inside there and punch it right out.
It’s in my keeper.
And we’ll pull it right out of there and set the punch aside.
Now you can see that on the one that I’ve used here
on my banner, it’s dimensional—so easy to do.
All I need to do is stamp a second “Thinking of You”
but instead of using the scallop punch
I have used the one-inch punch.
It’s just our one-inch circle punch.
Let me grab that right over here.
It’s a one and a quarter-inch circle punch
and it’s designed to perfectly complement the other circles
in this “Salutation Seal” stamp set.
So I’ve stamped that right out so it’ll fit on there perfectly.
Using just a little bit of foam tape,
which I love because it adds a little bit of dimension and pop.
So easy to use. I think I got a little bit carried away there.
There we go. Peels off quite easily. (Humming)
Whistle while you work, right?
And there we go.
And then I apply it directly over the base image.
Now I’ve got some fun dimension.
I add a little bit of my Glitz™ gel
and a little bit of my pleated ribbon behind
and you can see how adorable that’s going to turn my banner into.
Now with just a little bit of extra fun from my scallop punch,
you can see some of the other things that I’ve created here.
Using one of our great background stamps,
I’ve done a little bit of tone-on-tone two-step stamping,
and then, once again, punched it out with my scallop.
Here I’ve stamped an image inside
and then used our eyelet setter punch
and created a nice scalloped, deckled edge.
And this is perfect for a little bit of Mocha pearl action
right in here to just dress it up a little bit.
Now here’s another scrapbook page that I created
featuring my adorable daughter, Lauren.
And notice that the scallop punch works great
even when the stamped image inside isn’t perfectly sized.
My birdhouses look great here.
So does my little birdie up here.
And I’ve even taken some of these scalloped circled
images, folded them in half, and they create a perfect
deckled-edge pennant. So these are just a few of the
fun things that you can create when you work with
our scalloped edge. Now they also make for great clouds,
some curly hairdos. You can use them for name tags,
for ribbons for events, and medals.
It’s just an ideal stamp set and a wonderful tool
that you’re going to find yourself using again and again.
I know I do!
