Elg: And all that practicing obviously had a result. A: Yes.
Elg: Just a comparison. I understand nothing about notes. I even went to school a whole year to learn it . No success.
You have perfect pitch and do concerts far beyond my level.
Elg: And what's special is that you are both professional and pop star. Not many of those. A: Thank you.
The perfect pitch I can't take the credit for. That's something you are born with.
Perfect pitch, that means that you can hear which note or chord is being played. I didn't know that was special.
I believed that all children had it.
First at high school I was asked "Oi, do you have perfect pitch? How is it? How did you learn it?
And I didn't remember how I had acquiered it.
It is said that the odds for that happening is 1 out of 20.000. I was born not far away from... what was the name again?
SE: Do you mean Chernobyl? A: Chernobyl, yes. SE: You're kidding me.
And there were many, seriously speaking, there were many who were born with defects and many were not even born.
So it was .., it's kind of creepy to think about.
But I didn't understand what that meant when I was a child.
I remember that in primary school I ran around thinking I had a super power.
Because I was born with such genetics... I try to fly and such.
L: So perfect pitch is a little defect you have acquired. A: No, rather A super power.
L: It is exhausting to have perfect pitch. A: It's exhausting, like when you are transposing from one key to another.
But as my class mates said "Isn't it annoying noticing this is a 'G' and that is an 'A' all the time?"
But it is not like I walk down the street and people honk a horn and make sounds and I become, "Aaah!". surrounded by Fs and Cs.
