Well I wasn't your typical interviewee.
I never knew I wanted to be a flight attendant. I had a couple friends that worked here at Alaska
Airlines,
and they told me they were hiring. It has been the greatest thing I have ever done in
my life.
I love working here, but the best part of this job is working with the customers.
"I'd love to talk to you, but what are you drinking?"
I love talking with them, having fun with them, hearing their stories.
Just making them laugh, just making them smile makes my day.
When it comes to Alaska Airlines,
your destination is important but it's not the only thing.
The most important thing is who you're flying with. These people from
24 to 48 to 72 hours to 96 hours long sometimes.
You have to get along with them. If you cannot get along with people,
you will not have a good time at this job. What I like about it is
having a great crew makes everything and having
great passengers is the icing on the cake. "Okay, let's have some fun!" I love working
for Alaska Airlines because they are a
great company to work for, not too large, you have a niche in the west coast.
People love us, we love the people. I love flying all over the west coast.
Alaska is a growing company. I would say if you want a job at Alaska Airlines
- that gives you adventure, travel, fun - this is the place to be.
It's a small enough airline that it feels like a family.
You don't feel like just a number, you will have a great time.
What I like about this company is that what I put out to the customer is exactly
what I get back.
What's great about flying Alaska, for me, is I love being an airplane. I love going to new
Places.
I love seeing new things. I just love travelling. When I got the job, I didn't know
I would be gone as often as I was but I really
enjoy being gone. When I go on a trip, I can't wait to go,
but also can't wait to get back. Getting to be part of Alaska Airlines
is the greatest journey
I have ever taken in my life.
My name is Rod. I am an LA-based flight attendant and proud to be a 22-year
employee
at Alaska Airlines.
