In this video, I'm going to show you how to do the Rock and Roll Technique that I
used on the background of this card, using the French Foliage Stamp Set from
Stampin' Up!
I have a piece of Naturals Ivory card stock here,
and this
one leaf from the Stamp Set.
Then I have a pad of
Peach Parfait and one of Cherry Cobbler. First, I'm going to ink my stamp with
the lighter color.
And before I stamp with it, I'm going to just take and
roll around the edges of the stamp
in the
darker color, the Cherry Cobbler, and then stamp on my paper.
And you see how nicely
you get
the orange center with the red around the edges.
I'll keep repeating the process
until my background is filled with images.
When I roll the stamp on the Cherry Cobbler, you can see that if I hold it at
a steep angle the cherry cobbler ink is just on the very edges of the rubber.
When I stamp the image on the card stock,
then the Peach Parfait
fills the most of the image.
If I hold the stamp at a shallower angle, then I end up with more Cherry Cobbler
in the center.
So you just play with it until you find the
style that you like,
and that's the Rock and Roll Technique.
This technique works best with the stamp that has a lot of rubber rather than
just an outline, so that you can get the light center and the darker outline.
I don't really worry about getting the darker ink on the lighter color pad.
I could stamp off or clean the stamp before inking it again,
but I find that I can use the paper towel and wipe any of the darker color
off the light pad when I'm finished with the project,
and that just takes a lot less time.
So that's it..
have fun Rockin' and Rollin'!
