- Are ya ready kids?
- Aye, aye, captain!
- I can't hear you!
- Aye, aye, captain!
- Ohh... [sustains note]
Who lives in a pineapple under the sea?
- SpongeBob SquarePants!
- Absorbent and yellow and porous is he!
- SpongeBob SquarePants!
- If nautical nonsense be something you wish!
- SpongeBob SquarePants!
- Then drop on the deck and flop like a fish!
- SpongeBob SquarePants! - Ready?
- SpongeBob SquarePants!
SpongeBob SquarePants!
SpongeBob SquarePants!
- SpongeBob [sustains note] SquarePants!
[captain laughing]
- Welcome to Bikini Bottom.
A normally peaceful undersea sanctuary -- today it will be transformed into a theater of pure horror.
Wherein our little yellow friend will play the starring role.
- Today is the big day!
I have devised an ingenious plan to finally steal the Krabby Patty formula!
And if Bikini Bottom happens to get demolished in the process, oh well!
[laughs]
With my brand new Duplicatotron 3000, I will clone an army of robots that will wreak mayhem and destruction at my command!
One last review of the checklist.
Let's see.
Item number one: Is Plankton a genius?
Answer: yes! Okay, checklist complete -- throwing the switch!
Welcome, my perfectly obedient robot army!
Hang on, I want to get a photo for my scrap... book?
Hello? What do you think you're doing!?
Oh, no... no... wait!
I'm your master!
I made you!
Oh, no! No -- my good china!
[yells]
- Another perfect day playing "Robots & Racehorses"!
- Yeah, only I keep getting the racehorses and the robots mixed up.
- Wouldn't it be great if we had real robots to play with, Patrick?
I'd name mine Robo-Junior!
Or Zorlon!
Or maybe -- Frankie!
- Yeah, these unreal robots are getting boring.
Hey, what if we put the robots in here...
- Oh, how shellfish of you!
- It's not just any shell.
It's my magic wishing shell!
- Wow, that's great, Patrick!
- So we put the toy robots in here...
- Okay.
- We say the magic wishing words and shake the magic wishing shell. - [rattling]
- Okay.
- Then we go to sleep. And in the morning, we'll have real robots to play with!
- But Patrick, aren't we going to say the magic wishing words?
- You already did.
- So, "okay" is the magic wishing word?
- It used to be "alakazamaallabalaweesnatikitanafooshbargrittlevitsbanweetelschnozzer" but I kept forgetting it.
- Are you sure this will work?
- Sure! Last week I only had one big cookie crumb and I was really hungry.
So I put my cookie crumb in the magic wishing shell.
Then I said the magic wishing word and shook it
and in the morning I had lots of little cookie crumbs!
- Patrick, I proclaim that tomorrow is going to be the best day ever!
- Good night, SpongeBob.
- Good night, Patrick.
- The next morning... - [alarm clock honks]
- Gonna play with robots, gonna play with robots, gonna play with--
WHOA!
Gary, did you do that?
- Meow.
- Hey guys, MultiClassicgamer here welcoming you to "Let's Play SpongeBob SquarePants: Battle for Bikini Bottom".
So, uh, where do I start?
This is probably my favorite SpongeBob game of all time, I'm not going to lie.
When [Heavy Iron] designed this game, they really knew what made an awesome SpongeBob game.
And I applaud them for the hard work they have put into this game.
So what we were just taught here was that when you see this R button floating above a sign or a character, that means you can press the R button to talk to them or read the sign.
Basically the purpose of these signs is to give you sort of a tutorial, to tell you what to do if you don't know what to do.
You can destroy stuff -- I don't know why you would want to do that because this is SpongeBob's house and if you're a real SpongeBob fan you wouldn't want to do that
but I feel like being cruel today so I'm just going to do it, okay?
If you walk over to SpongeBob's TV, something will happen.
That's pretty much it. Basically, Bikini Bottom is being rampaged by a bunch of robots and pretty much what we're going to do is fighting a bunch of robots.
That's pretty much what this game is about.
You can press the B button to do this attack where SpongeBob spins his bubble wand.
It's a pretty useful attack -- the most basic attack in the entire game.
And you can use it to activate some pretty cool stuff; like if you hit the TV different images will appear.
There's a lot of cool stuff you can do in this game.
First things first, we're going to walk into SpongeBob's kitchen.
First thing you'll notice is that we have a typewriter machine over here, and on it we have a fax from...
Want to know what shiny objects are? Go over here and read this sign.
That's pretty much all there is to the shiny objects -- they are this game's form of currency.
Red shiny objects are worth 1 each.
As you can see there, I just got 6 by collecting 6 red shiny objects.
Yellow ones are worth 2.
Green ones are worth 5.
Blue ones are worth 10, I know that.
Purple ones are worth 50.
That's how it is. - I'd make myself a snack -- BUT THERE'S NO TIME!
- Yep, no time for snacks. There would be if we were playing as Patrick, but we're not.
That's pretty much all you can do in SpongeBob's kitchen.
Pretty much every time you walk to the kitchen he'll say that.
That's how the camera works in a lot of SpongeBob games that are controlled like this.
This game sets a standard for future SpongeBob games made by the same company.
We have a door here that requires 10 shiny objects to open.
We also have a door behind us that takes 50 shiny objects and we have just the right amount.
As you can see, there's a collectible in there but we're not going to get it just yet.
First of all, we're going to see what this door leads to.
- Maybe a little bounce on the ol' bed!
- This is SpongeBob's bedroom; got some shiny objects over here.
You can bounce around on his bed
like the crazy little child you are.
If you're crazy enough, you can just sit here and do this all day.
I know I can, because I'm a crazy child.
Up here we got some shiny objects on his springboard.
That's another thing I like about this game -- it has a nice double-jump.
Again, another standard that is set for future games is the double-jump.
If you attack his alarm clock --
- [alarm clock honks] - You can hear his signature alarm clock sound which is very annoying to other characters but pretty cool to people who watch the show.
This is what pressing the Z button does.
It makes all these stats appear on the screen.
In here we have SpongeBob's attic.
- This is where I keep all my old comic books.
- Sorry about this episode being so much tutorials; don't worry, the next episode will be a lot more exciting.
Seriously, so, much, tutorials.
This game starts off so slow, but don't worry, once we get into the first level, that's when things will start to get exciting.
I love how it makes these huge bubble feet appear under him; so funny.
We already learned this.
- Sometimes pushing a simple button is the most satisfying. Push push, push push. - I already taught the viewers that, so screw you, sign.
Yeah, sometimes SpongeBob will say stuff like that, like when you push buttons.
- Pow! - It sounds cool at first, but after a while it gets kind of annoying.
You know what? Here you go. Bottom right is Patrick's lost socks -- we'll get into that later.
First of all, we have two buttons here we can press.
This first one will make a huge bouncy ball drop down from the ceiling.
You can also push it around to allow you to access this button over here which is otherwise unaccessible.
As you can see, there is a sock up there.
We're going to grab that within the time we have left by jumping onto this springboard.
Get on to this platform right here...
Then using our newly found jumping abilities to get to the sock.
Again, I'll explain the socks later.
This right here, my friends, is our very first golden spatula.
In case the sign didn't do a good job of explaining.
If anyone is wondering, there are 100 golden spatulas and 80 of Patrick's missing socks, okay?
Upon collecting our very first golden spatula, we can now exit SpongeBob's house and enter Bikini Bottom.
- Ah, there's nothing like the sounds of your own neighborhood.
- And there we have it, it seems that Plankton is offering us a bunch of golden spatulas if we can get him back into the Chum Bucket.
So maybe we'll start accomplishing that in the next episode, okay?
Again, sorry about this extremely uneventful first episode, but don't worry, it will start getting far exciting in maybe not the next episode, but it should start getting exciting in the third episode,
where we will go to the very first level in the game, okay?
On the next episode of "Let's Play SpongeBob SquarePants: Battle for Bikini Bottom", we will be exploring this little area of Bikini Bottom and seeing what we can do, okay?
See you guys then; MultiClassicgamer, signing out. Thanks for watching our very first episode of this game.
I hope you guys are looking forward to it as much as I am.
I'm definitely not looking forward to the tutorials, but trust me, it will be worth it guys.
See you guys in the next episode. Bye.
