hello everyone welcome to Galaxy Note 2 tips and tricks episode fifteen and
today we will talk about forcing your home screen
into landscape mode
now
why would you want to do that? imagine you have
some kind of
a case or a stand
so you could just freely watch videos but unfortunately
the home screen does not support landscape mode and you might actually have like a
mouse
and a keyboard and then you're using
this as
maybe likes
portable computer and you may even have it connected to your
TV monitor
and
the problem is even though most apps you probably want to use for go
landscape mode
whenever you're at the home screen mode
it's a mess trying to navigate with the mouse and you might have already figured
out whenever you go to
this home screen all you have to do is rotate the mouse and then
kinda makes sense to navigate and then when you go to your
word processing app
then you turn the mouse over and then you could
controll it normally
you don't need to do all that if you have the right app and yes there is an app
for it
and there's two apps that i want to show you
you could get these both at the
google play store one is called
rotate I think it's like ultimate rotation control and the other
one is
rotation locker
okay and there was another one I believe let's see if I could show it
to you
there was another one in there but i want to tell you to stay away
from it there was one called
Auto rotates switch and for some reason maybe it complex with
jelly bean
or there's a bug in the app but it was like eating up
my
cpu time and
it's making everything lagging so stay away from that one and these
are the two that i recommend
this one unfortunately it has a really ugly icon but
if you can live with it then it will be fine
and this one is like more it's free and it's a manual control
so just put it in landscape mode
and you could see
the touch with browser actually does
work in landscape mode but it isn't perfect
for example when you go to the apps here
you'll notice there's apps on the bottom here
and they're not easy to get to if you could get to them at all
and you might see some of the widgets or
you kinda see like a flicker of the icons also
but i think
it is still a benefit because imagine you are
in bad and then you're watching like a movie
and it's actually
much better to navigate with this on
and
remember it is all manuals so it actually forces all your apps
to go
landscape mode if you have selected
or portrait whatever you have selected it forces it into that mode
and that might introduce some problems for example
you'll notice a lot of your apps actually do kinda work when you force it in
that position.. some apps
they will
have weird screen problems
you have the screen might be black
note to shut itself off
here's one more cool thing about it even though lock screen supports
landscape mode
somebody asked how I got the
landscape mode unlock screen
well there you go
so
that's rotation
rotation locker
okay and the other one i want to show you is called
I believe
ultimate rotation
control
and this one is a paid app
but it has some really great features
so you turn it on
and then it's always running in the background there
or always in your status bar
and then the two that i really like
are is this force to auto
force to auto means
well always listen to the
the orientation that it's at
so
you don't need to force it it's not manual it just listens
sees what position your phone is at and it forces it that way
and i i think it's great I think it works the best
but it is I believe some around three dollars
that's the end of this episode if you haven't been to my channel yet
