The Marmot Jena jacket is a great light weight 800 fill goose down jacket that is great for
just taking the edge off when it starts to get a little bit colder, when you are backpacking,
climbing or just wearing it around town.
The fabric of the jacket is kind of a unique design. It is mini rip stop fabric that is
sup-posed to keep all the plumes of down inside the jacket. So if you ever had a jacket that
the down starts to poke out, this fabric is supposed to be designed so that does not hap-pen.
Something about the pocketing, you just have three pockets, really sleek design. So it
the two pockets on the front are lined with a nice hand warmer pocket material. You have
a small pocket on the inside, big enough for a cell phone, or wallet, keys. You have a
storm flap right behind the zipper. So that helps to hold in heat as well as a draw string
on the whole bottom of the hem. The draw string runs through the pocket. So I can actu-ally
tighten the hem from the inside of the pocket and the remaining elastic cord actually falls
inside the pocket so it is not dangling down beside you.
The cuffs are just a sleek, stretchy elastic. And it has got a really nice baffled hood
that we are going to talk about. There is a nice light weight, sleek design about the
hood. It is actually a pretty small hood so it would fit well underneath of a helmet.
So you wouldn't wear this hood over top. But I will just pull the hood up. And you don't
actually have any draw string around the hood. So it is pretty light weight. You do have
a little bit of stretch elastic to give it a tight fit, but other than that, a really
simple hood.
The Jena hoody is a sleek, light weight design. It is going to keep you warm when you need
something a little extra, whether it be in the back country or down town.
