My name is Barbara Esses and I do events for a living. I'm Ruthie Hecht; I'm an event planner
and I work with and for my mother. We're going to teach you the do's and don'ts for the perfect
wedding. When toasting a bride and groom, remember its toasting and not roasting. Leave
the roasting to the rehearsal dinner and leave the toasting to the wedding. If you're a good
writer, by all means write it yourself. And if you're not, refer to many books out there,
and I'm sure today, they're on the internet, about how to toast. Make sure that you're
short, concise because nobody wants to listen to a long speech at a wedding. Think back
to yourself. Do you want to listen to a long speech? Put in only the points that are important.
Sock it to them with the speech in as short a time as possible.
