When the main installation process is complete, you'll see this screen on either
Windows or Mac prompting you to go into the configuration wizard.
Leave the option at the bottom of the screen checked and click Done.
After a few moments, your default web browser will open, and it will navigate to
a page on the ColdFusion Server. Notice the web address or URL: http://127.0.0.1:8500.
The first part 127.0.0.1 is the IP address for the local host.
That is the web server running on your own local system. And :8500 is called the
web server port, the number that the server listens on for requests.
The rest of the address, CFIDE/ administrator/index.cfm, is the default location
of the ColdFusion Administrator application. On this screen, you'll need to enter your
ColdFusion Administrator password. This is the password that you created during
the main installation process. Enter the password and click Login.
You'll see another screen appear, telling you that it's configuring the server
and to wait for a few moments. This should only take about a minute or two
at the most. If you don't see any response after about
three or four minutes, click the Continue link.
But if all goes well and the configuration succeeds, you'll see this screen
asking you if you want to go to the ColdFusion Administrator application.
When you see the message that the setup is complete, click OK to go to the
ColdFusion Administrator. If ColdFusion Administrator opens successfully
in the web browser, then you know that ColdFusion is installed and working.
Take a few moments before you go on to the rest of the video series to explore
the ColdFusion Administrator menu. There are sections for the Server Settings,
Data & Services, Debugging & Logging, Server Monitoring and many more.
I'll be talking about many of these features in other videos in this series.
