i intentionally crocheted a few extra chains
to show that if you end up with extra chains
and it doesn't match perfect
its not going to be a big deal
this is something that i learned from experience
i would rip out
my whole first row
and the chain
trying to get everything perfect
and after doing that a few times
i realize
i didn't know why it wasn't coming out
but everybody has an interpretation
of where to put the stitches
and so sometime it just may not come out
extra chains are going to be better than not enough chains
on thing you can do is
sometimes if you stitches are loose enought
you can actually just
sew in the whole chain
just like that
and the whole chain will sew right in your foundation
the other thing you can do
is actually cut
just like that
and then this right here
kind of by default
is already a knot
so you can pull that snug like that
and just cut off the rest of your chain
you will want to make sure you are not
cutting to far
and not leaving yourself enough tail to sew in
this is my practice swatch so it doesn't matter
you will want to leave yourself a long tail
if you are cutting the chain off
extra chains are never a reason
to start over
you want your chain to move freely
with your work
and not pull tight
so that you wind up with a tighter bottom
and a looser top
then you will get a v shape
type of an afghan
