If your class is using discussion boards you can access this tool through the Course Menu.
You’ll either see a link directly to the tool, such as this Discussion Board link
or you can access the tool through the Tools menu.
To do that, click on Tools, then Discussion Board.
Both paths lead to the same place.
Once in the tool, you should see a list of forums.
These are usually set up by your instructor to help guide your posting.
In some courses you might be allowed to actually create your own forums.
In that case, you’ll just be able to click the Create Forum button and then you’ll proceed from there.
Let’ say I wanted to post something in Ancient Democracy.
What I would do is click on the forum link,
and then I could read some of the existing threads that are already in this forum and I could respond to them.
To do that, click on the name of the thread and hit Reply.
Or I can create my own thread and a thread is just another word for a message.
To create a thread click the button, and then enter a subject and message text.
When your done you’ll have the option to click Save Draft or Submit.
Save Draft does just that, it saves this message for you to work on it later
and it won’t post it directly to the board.
To actually post your message to the board, you must click Submit.
You should then see your post in the forum.
