Hey What's up Ladies And Gentlemen,
This is David Benjamin from healhtywildandfree.com, today i'm going to show you how to make an
all natural peanut butter recipe with added resveratrol.
Now if you aren't familiar with resveratrol, it's in red wine and grapes, most people consume
it in red wine. It's an antioxidant known for promoting health and longevity benefits
and in fact mice in scientific studies lived 20% longer simply by consuming resveratrol,
so think about that, now think about how long, what's your average life expectancy, say it's
just 80 years old to make math simple.
That means you will live to 96 just by consuming resveratrol, 20% of age expectancy or to 100
years old. I don't really know how that works, or what exactly.
Either way 20% life expectancy increase is a huge gain, and it's absolutely incredible,
so resveratrol is a very potent, very effective antioxidant, now, like I said most people
consume it through red wine and grapes and things like that but what most people don't
know is that actually peanuts, ya know, peanuts, the things we snack on and eat all the time
and have in our peanut butter, because it's peanut butter, ahh, and ya know, maybe some
of you go to the bar possibly and end up getting drunk, people still do that apparently, and
ya know there's peanuts there.
The cool thing about the peanuts is that they actually contain resveratrol, it's very surprising,
now if you crack open a peanut i'm going to show you something kind of cool. What i'm
going to do is actually make this peanut butter and as you can see here I got the peanut butter
and then as you can see there's this ya know, red papery shell out on the outside of the
peanut. Now actually the peanut itself contains resveratrol but this shell also contains resveratrol,
and from my understanding this shell which is a kind of brownish reddish color is more
resveratrol rich, so what you want to do when you're eating peanuts first of all is eat
this shell, it's rich in fiber and resveratrol but then also if you're making peanut butter
to simply keep the shells as you may be able to see with the peanuts.
So i'm going to put all that in the blender, and if you have a food processor, a food processor
works great, a food processor is actually better than a blender but like I said i'm
in Costa Rica, maybe I didn't say that, i'm in Costa Rica, so using a blender is what
I got, so you're going to put the peanut s and the shells in here because that's adding
more resveratrol and fiber basically. And then all you're going to do is take olive
oil, i'm almost out, so i'm just going to show you for the sake of this video, i'm just
going to use all of this, add it to the blender, simple as that… now i'm just going to pour
this in here, and all i'm going to do is put the top on, put this on here, and then blend
away.
Now it's just going to take a little bit more time and a little bit more olive oil, but
right now it's like a chunky, it's just the blended down version of peanuts basically.
And all you'r egging to have to do is shake it around, add more olive oil, you can also
add himalayan sea salt or regular sea salt, preferably himalayan sea salt because it's
more mineral dense and less refined and processed.
Just continue to blend away, now, as you blend you can add more olive oil basically the tip
with that is the more olive oil you add the creamier it's going to get, but also the more
olive flavor it's going to have, so if you want chunky peanut butter, use less olive
oil and more peanuts and you might want to use a little bit of water just to kind of
get some moisture within the blend itself.
And then blend that, because then it will blend easier and it will actually make it
better, otherwise it's going to be really dry and pasty, I tried to make pumpkin seed
butter without really anything and it really wasn't working, and then I added some water
and then it started blending and it made it more of a peanut, urn a pumpkin seed paste,
as opposed to a butter, so it's better but if I added more water it would be more, it
would have more moisture and it would blend easier.
So all you're going to do is blend, so I need to add more olive oil, all you're going to
do is add a little bit of olive oil, keep that rollin, and as you continue to do that
one thing you can do to is kind of like, shake it up, like that, so that ever tying kind
of falls into the center, see blenders are difficult, if you have a food processor it
makes things easier.
But if you stay persistent and keep doing that, I need to get some more olive oil, it's
going to continuously blend it, and that's really all you have to do is take the peanuts
,and preferably get them organic and raw if you can. If they're in a shell like this,
crap them open, crack them open, don't crap them open, that would be bad and weird and
kind of disgusting, and then take the peanut and the peanut shell, just like that so it's
red and everything and throw those in the blender, it takes a while, it takes a long
time especially if you're cracking them from the shells like this, so maybe listen to a
podcast like the Healthy Wild And Free podcast, and educate yourself and enjoy the process
because it's a little bit tedious, the cool thing about this is that when you're making
it fresh you're not only creating the peanut butter from the peanuts from scratch so the
cases is that most peanut butters in the stores may have mold in them and you may not even
know it and you're consuming that.
But making it fresh with these peanuts you're actually really consuming your risks to kind
of mold contamination within the peanut butter because you're making it fresh right here
and if the peanuts don't have mold you're not putting them into the blender or food
processor and you're not going to have that issue.
And then adding fresh olive oil and himalayan salt is the best you can get, the great thing
about that too is that you're having more resveratrol in your peanut butter because
you're including your shell, and I don't think most manufacturers do, even with natural peanut
butters at health food stores, so you'll have a resveratrol rich peanut butter, you can
have himalayan salt as opposed to regular salt because it has 83 minerals or so, and
the cool thing about that is that peanuts, and other nuts and grains is that they contain
phytic acid which is an anti nutrient that hinders mineral absorption.
By adding in that himalayan sea salt is what you're actually doing is that you're increasing
the amount of minerals so you are kind of neutralizing that loss of that mineral absorption,
so you're getting a mineral, protein, healthy fat, and resveratrol rich delicious peanut
butter.
All by using peanuts, raw organic, with the shell, peanuts, a little bit of olive oil,
and some himalayan sea salt and the cool thing about this too is that I don't have the specific
recipe, like I said depending on what you want, if you want to have more of a creamy
taste, use more olive oil, if you want to have more of a crunchy taste and texture,
use less olive oil but you may need to use more water and blend it again.
Kind of tailor it to your own taste preferences, your unique, crunchy, oily, less oily etc…
so on and so forth.
It's an amazing recipe, it tastes delicious, I have been making this, I made this a few
times now that i've been down here in Costa Rica, and I just dip celery in peanut butter
and it's an amazing snack, I highly recommend it, and like I said, mineral rich, healthy
fats, protein rich and it has added resveratrol, it has more resveratrol than the typical peanut
butter you're going to get at the store, even at the health food store because your adding
the shells and it's fresh, and on top of that the peanut butter is going to have less mold,
or at less likely to have mold in it, than the amount that it has in the store.
That's it for this video, if you love peanut butter like I do, pull the blender out, start
using it and try the recipe, the ingredients I shared with you and just play around with
it, this isn't a specific recipe, you just play around, get experience and you'll find
something that works really well for you, it's delicious, healthier and organic and
you'll just really thoroughly love it and enjoy it, thanks a lot for your time and watching
this video.
