I don't really want to praise Simba to the skies, at
at least not before I took a look at what's inside,
but they are setting a good example:
The packaging is from cardboard
instead of plastic. Sure, it's glossy printed cardboard,
but at least it's cardboard and not plastic which would end up in the waste anyway.
Well done, Simba, your competitors like Dracco
or whatever's their name can take a page from your book.
Now for the more important stuff: "Bugsted - Back to the Moon". What's it about?
I looked it up on the internet and found out it's about
some characters who
came from the moon to our planet and now want
to go back to the moon. It's a television programme
and there's an online game which I did take a look at.
It's actually quite cut and
also it's an obvious clone of "Lemmings", however,
at least in the browser version, the controls are so bad
the fun is rather limited, because everything's jerky and sluggish.
Unfortunately enough the video doesn't show that
because when I recorded it, the game behaved as it should and worked flawlessly.
But it didn't play well in most of my attempts,
even the intro video is stuttering so badly
the music breaks off all the time.
I doubt my internet connection is to blame.
A version for the iPad exists as well and the AppStore reviews
make it rather clear that it has rather similar issues.
Contains one of 18 figures to trade and collect,
but since there are only nine different characters, Simba simply
made two versions of each: one is standing, the other
is in a pose. Not the worst idea.
You can do that. They all look rather cute if
you enjoy the style; I can't say I don't.
It's definitely rather cheerful.
Also included is an "online code for more power"
"in the free online game". Of course, we are talking about a free-to-play game.
The code unlocks some kind of boosts
you'd pay for otherwise. It's a nice touch to include
them in the box, but I guess it pays.
I'll take a look at what we've got.
Oh Simba, didn't I just commend you for not using plastic packaging?
And look at what you've done ...
It's a plastic bag!
Let's cut it open ...
What's this?!
It's a dude with a One on his chest.
And a crash helmet, so who could it be?
"Montana"
Ten-hut! I have to say, he's looking rather cool.
For that level of detail at least.
And he can stand, thanks to the base.
We also get a sticker showing the exact same pose, why not.
And here's the obligatory code, there you go.
One ... two ... three ... gone!
So this is "Bugsted - Back to the Moon".
I can't possibly complain, except about the audacity
of putting a plastic bag into the carton. Why was this even needed?
Other than that, I have nothing bad to say about them.
I'll put it on the shelf for sure. And I've got
another one, this one is "Panzer", yes Sir!
"Panzer" also had a code in the box,
here it is ... there you go.
And it's gone!
And of course, there was another sticker, because why not.
"Panzer" is such a hard name to remember that he's
wearing the picture of a tank on his chest.
What can he do? I have not the slightest idea,
but if I should guess I'd say he steamrolls everything.
At least that's what he looks like.
Pretty damn purple as well. Anyway,
off you go on the shelf - and I mean both of you!
Thanks for watching and see you next time!
