To install the standard forged hitch, start by removing the rear axle from the bicycle.
Then slide the hitch onto the axle with the attachment point facing outwards. Then simply
re-install the rear axle. Unlike the standard forged hitch, which attaches
to the axle, the classic hitch clamps to the bike frame. To install it, first make sure
the clamp is loose. Then drop the hitch into its position as shown, and tighten the clamp.
All Burley hitch adapters are installed the same way. First remove the quick release or
nut from the axle, and then screw the adapter onto the threaded axle end until tight. Slide
on the forged hitch with the attachment point facing outwards and replace the quick release
or nut to lock into place. To install a forged hitch on a Nexus hub,
start by removing the outer bolt. Slide the hitch over the exposed thread with the attachment
point facing outwards. Then replace the nut, and tighten into place.
