All right, in this next clip I want to talk to you a little bit about the clothes and
about painting, 'cause if you've ever seen a painter, which you can tell by my pants,
you can always tell a painter pretty much. And you've always seen them wearing white.
I want to tell you why that is. Way back in the day when they used to do a lot of whitewashing,
and the majority of the things out there were painted white, so painters would always have
a white uniform from their shirts to their hats to their pants to their socks and shoes,
simply because when they were painting white or whitewashing white, and they would splatter
the paint on them, or get the white on them or wipe it off on them, the white clothes
wouldn't show the white very much, therefore if they wanted to go to lunch or after work
or whatever, they would go out in the public and not look a complete mess. Imagine if you
had on a, you know, a blue shirt and you know blue jeans, and some nice shoes, and you painted,
and you went out there, and you were covered in white paint, you'd look like a total mess.
There wasn't a lot of respect for that, so they wore white uniforms, because the white
would hold most of the white paint, hide most of the white paint, and they felt a little
bit better about themselves. So, another tip about your clothing and stuff, I wear two
shirts, and I don't wear shoes. Two reasons, one, my socks pick up the drip and kind of
soak it up, whereas if I step on a drip in my shoe, I can literally track it through
my face, and that's a little bit harder to pick up. As far as my shirt, I wear two shirts
because when I'm painting a lot of things come up. I may have to run an errand, there
might be an emergency, I might have to answer the door and I don't like to look like a mess,
so I can simply take off one shirt and get all the mess off of me, and kind of present
myself in public that way. So just a little neat tip about clothing and a little bit of
history about paint.
