New York City Center has announced that their 2014 Choreography Fellowships will be going to four artists this year
Camille A. Brown, Gabrielle Lamb, Rashaun Mitchell, and Silas Riener.
This generous award gives selected artists a creative home at City Center for the year,
providing them with rehearsal and performance space in addition to a stipend.
Former fellowship winners have included the likes of Brian Brooks, Beth Gill, Shen Wei, and more.
Congrats to the choreographers on this honor!

Kathleen Marshall, a three-time Tony Award winner, is gearing up for a new project as director and choreographer
of a fresh adaptation of musical The Unsinkable Molly Brown.
Marshall has worked on Broadway hits like The Pajama Game, Anything Goes, Grease, Little Shop of Horrors, Seussical, and Wonderful Town.
The work will premiere with the Denver Center Theatre Company as a part of their 2014/2015 season, opening this fall.

A school in western Pennsylvania shut down their Snow Ball early when members of the board were appalled by what was happening on the dance floor.
The moves in question? Twerking.
The board has actually contacted a local dance studio to see if they could come in to teach students about how to dance more appropriately.
At least they are looking for appropriate alternatives to keep the students dancing tastefully!
