It was supposed to be the happiest of days
My mom agreed to let me and my sister go play in the nearby village with our cousins whom we haven't seen in like a month
But instead we had to go hide in the forest
Dad held me tightly and my mom held my sister and we looked like a pile of rocks, we did not move
At night we would walk, and during the days we would hide
I only went with my dad and I was angry at my mother for ruining that day for me
I wanted to play with my cousins so much
And when I asked her when I'll be able to play with them, she did not answer
On one of the nights, when it got dark and we were supposed to keep walking
My mom did not get up
He cried like I've never seen him cry before. I didn't understand what was happening
He said that we need to continue walking and that mom will stay here
I didn't want to go. I ran to my mom and hugged her. I wasn't mad at her anymore at all
I promised myself that I will never again play and will always stay at home
I just wanted her to get up
From that moment, my dad went silent and my sister clung to me and did not let go
