Hi, I'm Amanda with Expert Village. In this clip we be cleaning and thinly slicing mushrooms.
Particularly when cleaning mushrooms you want to avoid rinsing them with water because that
can make them soggy. Today I'm going to rinse the mushrooms because they are going to be
in a soup so it should be fine. Eight ounces of mushrooms is what I'm using today, just
a quick rinse off. Now I'll thinly slice the mushrooms. It is nice to just cut the small
part off of the stem. That part can often be spongy and have a less desirable taste.
From there, slicing the mushroom thinly and including the stem when slicing as well.
