I'm Joe Cuenco, with Family Resources. Today, we're going to be talking about tips on after
you say I do how to make that last forever, specifically, how to succeed in marriage.
In order to succeed in marriage it really requires a commitment on the both parts of
each individual to be partners, partners for life. Of course, the fundamentals have to
be there. There has to be love, has to be trust, friendship, communication, and mutual
respect. These are all very important relationship parameters. But you really need to understand
and talk about what is important to you, and what is important to your partner, and make
sure that you understand that there's a two-way dialog, and you begin to execute a plan and
begin to grow together as a couple. There are big things that you can do and there are
little things, and the little things often can be very important. It could be a matter
of giving a back rub, a foot rub. It could be a matter of of bringing your man, your
husband a martini when he comes home from work at the door, or adding a little bit of
spice in the bedroom. There has to be communication, and there has to be mutual sharing of ideas,
emotional intimacy, and also bringing all that together in a package so that the relationship
keeps building and you work towards the successful goal. Doctor John Gray has some great advice
here. There are many workshops that Family Resources and other entities put on in your
community. I would suggest that you you take a look at those. Maybe utilize those to to
get some helpful advice and some very practical tips. Also, talk to some very successful couples
who have been married a long time, and and things that they employ in their marriage
that might be helpful for you to get some very good advice. And that's how we build
a successful marriage. I'm Joe Cuenco, with Family Resources, Relationships for Life.
