Hi, my name's Jessica Smith. I'm with Bland's Nursery, in West Jordan, Utah, and we're,
today we're talking about flower smells that can make you sick. From time to time, some
flowers, the the aromas that they give off can actually make some people sick. Unfortunately,
the only way to eliminate this problem is to actually get rid of the plant, or clip
off the flowers if you want to keep the plant around with the foliage. Alls you need to
do with clipping off the flowers is just clip right in front of some leafs here. You don't
want to leave a large stem. Each time that it produces the buds, and before it actually
flowers out you'd want to remove the buds at this point. Pruning too high and leaving
a long stem, it won't produce leafs for up here. You want to go right down above the
next leaf stem to promote new growth off of here. The best way to get rid of the odor
is to either remove the flowers, or altogether find a new plant and remove the one that is
bothering you.
