>> Andy Hopper: It’s not about having a one night stand with social media. It’s
really about being there for the long haul. And so for you just start with this year,
just start with one. If you’ve already been doing it for the last year or so try and add
another one to it. But don’t feel like you have to do all of them just because people
are telling you to do it or because your competitors are doing it. Just do it really, really, really
well. So you can choose between your Facebook personal, your Facebook business page, Twitter,
LinkedIn, Google Plus; these are the main ones. And so the technique that I’m gonna..
or the product that I’m gonna teach you now is gonna be able to work with all of these
and very quickly in the future Google Plus as well.
>> So this is HootSuite.. hootsuite.com. It’s absolutely free for you to use. It also has
a Pro version which is about $6 or $7 a month and you do have a 30-day trial on using that.
There’s a few different types of software that you can use. And so..basically, they
allow you to connect to all of your social media channels into one dashboard and so you
can control it all from one place. There’s just a few different options that you might
have heard of.. TweetDeck and I think Seesmic is how it’s pronounced. I don’t mind what
you use as long as it’s gonna do the same for you. We’re just going with HootSuite
because of some blog reviews that we’d read and it’s just very simple to use, so I know
that you guys are gonna be confident using it.
>> So this is what HootSuite looks like on the inside..where we can start to add.. right
at the top you’ll see there’s little tabs. So you got welcome social media dashboard,
we got Facebook, moving along to Twitter and so you can start to connect all of your social
media channels to this one dashboard. And then within each tab we’ve got our wall
posts for Dale Beaumont.. wall posts for Business Blueprint, we’ve got mentions on Twitter.
And so it’s putting it all into one site. So rather than you having to go to multiple
different sites, multiple different logins, you can manage it all from one place. And
we even created it so that anytime anyone mentions Dale Beaumont or Business Blueprint
that streams.. it’s called a stream.. it comes up in one of the streams. So we can
just scroll down through it, see if anyone mentioned anything important, we can reply
to it. Everything can be replied to within this. And so we don’t really ever need to
go back to Facebook again or Twitter again. It can all be done within this one site. As
Dale said so there’s a bunch of training videos on the website showing you how to use
this. And even better don’t even watch them just send them to your VA to watch cause it’s
not.. you don’t need to learn how to use this initially. So this is what HootSuite’s
gonna look like, so it’s very easy to use though. So in the top box here.. it comes
up like this and so you’ve got the option of writing in your status. It tells you how
much.. how many currencies you got less, left.. you can put your links in it.. you can shrink
it because that’s really important to keep the lens down shorter..and you’ll see there
you’ve also got your options, add attachments, locations and schedule into the future..and
that’s what we do. And so then you can start to send it, you can choose where you ‘re
gonna send it. So some of them you just might wanna send out. Actually, this is just a Twitter
update. And so that’s fine. It just sends it to Twitter or you can select all and it’s
gonna send it to all of them. So it’s completely leveraged.
>> And so I just wanna show you an example here of just how, you know, how effective
this stuff is with social media. We can put a code off at 10:51 am, it gets retweeted
at 10:45 am. I just took a quick look at this guy and so we do know Brett. He’s got 433
followers on Twitter and see he’s retweeted it to all those people. On LinkedIn, he’s
got 388 connections. And so suddenly that one piece of content that we’d just scheduled
to go out has now reached over 800 people, not that.. we know they’re not all gonna
be looking at it that one time, but suddenly that one video we had has now gone out to
nearly 1000 people. So managing it.. what makes it even better with HootSuite is that
you don’t have to do it one at a the time. You can upload 50 status updates all at once
using Excel spreadsheet with this specific coding.
