so you have got to have noticed just how many people are now looking at websites through mobile
devices
in a long gone what was the day when the phone was just the phone
now it does everything for you and
there's a massive trend towards searching and browsing the internet through mobile
devices in we're talking about the smart phones
so picture your website now
a fraction of its size so that you cant even read
the words
and imagined just how useful that is on a mobile device of course people have to
stretch the picture to make it look
uh... bigger so they can read it and then keep scrolling across that
and all of that is helping
your users, your visitors to go and use somebody else's website and that's what
we don't want them to do
we want them to get access to your content on the platform or device
that they want to find access to your content
so what i'm saying is that as part of your online success
we need to build a mobile version of your website
so don't just have the typical version that you're going to show to computers
and it's possible
for that to be done so that it automatically redirects when somebody goes
to your web address
so you don't have to give out a different website address
for people to go to on the smart phone because again
that doesn't help the user get to the information that they want quickly
so what do i mean by mobile friendly
uh... website quite simple
you have seen on smart phones im sure but the screens and not as wide as a
computer screen so computer screens are getting wider and wider and mobile
devices are small and then not set to become
big screens why would they they wouldn't be mobile anymore
we need to work with the screen now its a lot easier to scroll on these devices so
it's not that
you need less content although in most cases you will
is that you have to deliver the content in the right format
make it easy for people to press buttons
and to scroll up and down the content so
what i would suggest is we want to strip out a lot of the wasted material
on your website
one of the key things that somebody would be searching for if they were
searching for your
products or services
through a mobile device
let's get them that content and it may be as simple as having
the problem that you solve described
the solution that you offer uh... presented
testimonials
um... use social media feeds in so people know you're still active
and a contact, it might be that simple
you have to work that out of course for your particular business and that's what
i want this section to be about what should you put onto
your mobile version of your website
and if you noticed what i've just said there is what should you put on
rather than
whether you need it
i absolutely feel that you need to have a mobile version of your website you
need to build that now
so there is more and more people start to use
mobile devices
you're there and your ready
okay so
think about what information somebody would be looking for
from you if they would now
mobile
have a look at the main content
that you've decided you're going to be putting into your website and what areas of
that content are not quite so relevant
you see its going to be a really good discipline this one as well because
you have to
cut down a lot of the words out of that
uh... mobile version of your website you really need to be to the point precise
solving problems quickly uh... and effectively for your mobile visitor
so it's as simple as that imagine yourself a small screen now
what information do you absolutely have to get across to your mobile
visitor
so if you take some time now have a look at the templates below that will really
help you and uh... so focus you on exactly how much space you do have
available to you uh... think about what content should be on your mobile
uh... website
