Hello. My name is Carlos Davila and I am a personal trainer in New York City. In this
next clip we are going to talk about managing shoulder stitches while running. One of the
main things that people do not focus on when they are preparing for their runs is the fact
that your arms are in constant motion. You are constantly moving your arms, using your
shoulders to pivot your arms back and forth. So one of the things you really want to focus
on before you run is to stretch your shoulders out. A lot of people do not focus on this
because when they think of running they think that its all about the legs and making sure
that the legs are stretched, but you also want to make sure that your shoulders and
your arms are stretched. Now, you also want to try and not to eat too soon before you
run. Results have also found that eating too soon before you run can lead to shoulder stitches
as well. So again, you really want to focus on stretching out your shoulders, stretching
out your triceps, stretching out your rear dells, stretching your upper back before your
runs to make sure that you do not get those shoulder stitches. This is Carlos Davila,
personal trainer, New York City.
