The nation's top mobile service provider says it will compensate its 5-point-six million
users for 10 times the cost of the damage they suffered after an overnight service failure.
The head of SK Telecom, Ha Sung-min , made the announcement at a press conference this
Friday afternoon after apologizing for the incident.
SK Telecom's mobile network suffered a partial failure from Thursday night through early
Friday morning, with its subscribers having problems making calls and downloading data.
The company's policy is to only offer compensation to its customers when they are unable to use
the services for more than three hours. The usual amount of compensation is six times
the daily subscription fee, but the compensation amount will be 10 times the daily average.
