[Jerry] Hi I’m Jerry from Huppin’s [Mike] Hi I’m Mike from Huppin’s we’re
going to show you how to install your high definition television on the wall. There are
three basic types of mounts, a flat mount, a tilt mount and a cantilever mount. What
we’re going to show you how to do here is mount a basic tilt mount on the wall. Inside
the box your bracket comes in you’ll find a template that you can use to mark the wall
for it to be installed properly, you will find the wall bracket and you also have the
two pieces that go on the back of the television itself, you also will have a bag of hardware,
different lengths of screws and spacers which should make the job go just right. Before
you get started you’ll want to make sure you have all the appropriate tools to get
this job done. The first and most important one are the instructions, they explain exactly
step by step how this should work. And of course you’ll want a drill, or some kind
of socket with the appropriate attachments, something to measure with, and very importantly
a level. We always recommend that you use the studs, so a stud finder is going to be
a real help. It is important you take several things into consideration before actually
mounting the television, the spot needs to be appropriate, you want to be comfortable
when you view this for long hours, you also want to make sure that once you go to mount
it that you have power in place that you have the appropriate signal cables in place, all
connected devices need to have some way to get their picture to the television. We have
taken our stud finder and located the studs in our wall and we have also taken our template
and put up on the wall and marked out where we’re going to put the bracket. After marking
out we also pre-drilled our holes of where we’re going to attach the wall portion of
our bracket, placing it up here and aligning the holes. We will also use a level to make
absolutely sure that we have it exactly the way it should be. What Jerry is going to do
now is to run the screws in that will hold this bracket in place. It is important to
remember when you get your screws in place to leave them a little loose initially, these
holes if you notice are a elongated this allows the bracket to move side to side just a little
bit to help with the positioning. Before you actually attach the television rail to the
television you’ll want to check that your screws are the appropriate length. Sets are
only getting thinner it’d be quite disturbing if you ran a screw through too far. So just
put your screw in and tighten it down by finger will be fine and you’ll want to run it all
the way in, if it goes all the way in without hitting bottom you know you have the right
length. Sometimes however you will have a much longer screw and you’ll actually need
more spacing to allow for the wiring, the brackets come with these spacers that allow
you to get some spacing away from the TV. Pay close attention to when you go to install
your frame rail, and take a look to the manual that came with your bracket. Every bracket
has a top, a bottom, a right and a left so it is very important you know that before
you attach it. We are now ready to put our rails on our television. All televisions are
going to have a set of four holes evenly spaced to allow for the wall mounting brackets. This
will vary of course depending on the size of your set, these appear very wide apart
because we have a large television here. Put your brackets up, you want to look at where
it’s going to hang on the top and hang on the bottom and try to roughly center those
on the set. We’re almost ready to hang our television, I want you to notice the two rails
that we’ve just installed and the bracket. You’ll notice that the bracket is considerably
wider than the rails are width wise. If you hang this television up there now you’ll
be able to slide it side to side and properly position it in case it is a little off. You’ll
also want to determine where all the connections go on the back of your set. Then you want
to make sure that you have enough slack for those connections to be made, you also want
to look at the end of your wiring, depending on the profile you want to make sure when
you lower the TV down that there is going to be clearance for the wires. We have used
a ninety degree because this is a low-profile mount and we’ve also used a recessed power
plug, again because it’s a very low-profile mount. Ok we’re going to hang the TV on
the wall now and I should mention, and this should go without saying that this is a two
person job. Now that we have made all of our connections we are free to release the set, lower it into
place and our installation of our new HDTV is now complete. Now that you have your TV
all mounted on the wall it’s time to sit back, relax and enjoy the show.
