So, the story is like this.
I came to this village a few months ago
as a first artist invited for the residency
today we just settled down in this village, Dubravica
and after a good understanding with the guys of the organization and the local authorities,
we decided to create a larger event and invite several artists from all Europe
to come to Dubravica and transform the landscape with their works.
The strong relation of Slovaks with their natural environment, and the long tradition of land art here,
were the departure point for our residency project
which aims to bring back the discussion about the pertinence of art outside the gallery
in this context where creativity shouldn't be limited by any money, country or even walls.
So, together with a wonderful group of volunteers,
the artists developed a diverse body of work which uses the landscape as a canvas.
[in Slovak] In the kitchen, in the kitchen is also art.
And the goal, is create a long term land art collection, which would be unique in the area,
at the same time that involves local people in the process and provides to the village with new identity symbols.
The result is an artistic production in a shape of ecological thinking.
In that way, we are very much looking forward for the next year!
